Many people online fall for this quick math puzzle. They look at the numbers and quickly guess 52. At first glance, calculating the expression without thinking carefully about the rules might seem straightforward. However, basic mathematics shows that 52 is not the correct answer. The key is knowing which operation should be completed first.
In mathematics, we use PEMDAS or BODMAS to solve expressions. These rules cover parentheses or brackets, exponents or orders, multiplication and division, followed by addition and subtraction. One detail is especially important: multiplication and division have equal priority. When both appear together, you calculate them from left to right. The same applies to addition and subtraction.
