The Little Boy In This Photo Grew Up To Be One Of America’s Most Evil Men

The little boy in the photograph grew up to become Richard Ramirez, the serial killer known as the “Night Stalker.” Born on February 29, 1960, in El Paso, Texas, Ramirez was the youngest of five children in a Mexican immigrant family. His childhood was reportedly marked by severe abuse, including violence from his alcoholic father and disturbing experiences that shaped his early life.

As a teenager, Ramirez witnessed his cousin shoot and kill his wife, an event that deeply affected him. He later moved to California, where he became heavily involved with drugs and began committing burglaries. In 1984, he committed his first known murder, and the following year he launched a series of attacks that terrorized communities across California.

Ramirez broke into homes at night and attacked victims of different ages, using guns, knives, hammers and other weapons. His crimes often involved sexual assault and disturbing Satanic imagery, which became associated with his identity in the media. A massive investigation eventually connected the crimes, and a crucial breakthrough came when a teenager noticed Ramirez near his home and remembered details about the car he was driving.

Police eventually identified Ramirez through a fingerprint found inside the abandoned vehicle. After his photograph was released publicly, he was recognized by residents in East Los Angeles and captured after a struggle with local people. In 1989, he was convicted of numerous murders, attempted murders, sexual assaults and burglaries and sentenced to death. Ramirez remained on death row until his death in 2013 from complications related to B-cell lymphoma.
