We’ve all been there—you’ve parked your car, turned off the ignition, stepped out, and then noticed that one or more windows are still open. Frustrating, right? In many cars, your first instinct might be to get back in, switch the ignition on again, and close the windows normally. But depending on the vehicle, there may be an easier option.
One trick shared among drivers involves pressing and holding both front power-window switches in the upward, or closing, position at the same time. Keep holding them for a few seconds and, on certain vehicles, the windows may continue rising even though the engine has already been switched off. It sounds like a surprisingly convenient shortcut, particularly when rain suddenly starts falling. However, there’s one important detail drivers should know before assuming this will work in their own car.
