A husband came home late one evening, exhausted after spending several hours out with friends.

He was so tired and unsteady that all he wanted was to climb into bed and fall asleep.

But his wife had a problem.

She had been spending the evening with another man, and neither of them expected her husband to return so soon.

When they heard his key turning in the front door, the visitor immediately panicked.

“Quick! Where should I hide?” he whispered.

His wife remained surprisingly calm.

“Don’t move,” she replied. “He’s so sleepy he probably won’t notice anything.”

Sure enough, the husband entered the bedroom, climbed into bed, and closed his eyes.

For a few minutes, everything seemed perfectly normal.

Then he suddenly sat up.

He had noticed something very strange at the foot of the bed.

“Wait a minute!” he exclaimed. “Why are there SIX feet sticking out from under these blankets? There should only be FOUR!”

His wife’s response was so clever that he ended up believing her.
