At first, the two friends tried to convince themselves that the mysterious shape was nothing more than a trick of the light. Waterfalls create heavy mist, unusual shadows, and reflections that can make ordinary rocks look strangely human. But the more closely they examined the photographs, the more uncomfortable they became. In one image, the pale figure appeared to stand against the rocks. In another, taken moments later, it seemed to have moved several feet forward. Neither woman could remember hearing footsteps, seeing movement, or noticing anyone approaching the pool.

Their uneasiness grew when they remembered the surrounding landscape. The rocks were steep, slippery, and partly covered in vegetation. There was no obvious walking trail leading to the place where the figure appeared. If someone had been standing there, how had they reached that spot without being noticed? Later that evening, they showed the images to the owner of the accommodation where they were staying. According to the account, his reaction was unusually serious. He told them that other hikers had occasionally reported seeing someone near the waterfall, even though that side of the area was difficult to access. He advised the women not to return alone, especially as daylight faded. His warning frightened them, but it did not prove that anything supernatural had happened. The mysterious shape could still have been another visitor, an optical illusion, or a feature of the rocks distorted by mist.

The two friends never returned to investigate, and the identity of the figure remained unknown. What had started as a peaceful afternoon became a memory filled with unanswered questions. Their photographs were supposed to capture the beauty of a hidden waterfall, but instead, they reminded them of the possibility that they had not been alone. Without independent verification or clearer images, there is no way to determine exactly what the camera captured. Yet the story remains unsettling for one simple reason: sometimes the most disturbing detail in a photograph is something nobody noticed when it was taken.
