At 76 years old, Harold had always been the kind of man who refused to complain.

He had worked hard his entire life, raised three children, and rarely visited a doctor unless absolutely necessary.

So when a tiny bump appeared on his upper back, he thought nothing of it.

“It’s just a pimple,” he told his wife.

Months passed, and the bump slowly became larger.

Because it was in a place he couldn’t easily see, Harold continued ignoring it.

Occasionally, it became uncomfortable when he leaned against his favorite chair, but he convinced himself it was nothing serious.

Then one Sunday afternoon, his daughter noticed something unusual beneath his shirt.

“Dad, how long have you had that lump?” she asked.

Harold shrugged. “Oh, that old thing? It’s been there for years.”

His daughter became concerned when she saw how much the skin around it had changed.

She insisted that he make an appointment with a dermatologist.

Harold reluctantly agreed.

But when the doctor examined the lump, Harold discovered that what he’d called a pimple for years might be something entirely different.
