At first glance, this looks like one of the easiest puzzles you’ll ever encounter.
Four identical glasses are placed side by side, each filled with water to approximately the same level.
But there’s one important difference.
Each glass contains a different object.
Glass A holds a paperclip, Glass B contains a baseball, Glass C has an eraser, and Glass D contains a wristwatch.
Now comes the question that has people looking twice:
Which glass actually contains the most water?
Some people immediately choose the glass with the biggest object.
Others carefully examine the waterlines, convinced that one must be slightly higher than the others.
And some simply trust their first instinct.
The challenge is that what appears obvious isn’t necessarily correct.
There’s a simple scientific principle hiding behind this puzzle, and once you understand it, the answer becomes much clearer.
Before you continue, choose your answer: A, B, C, or D. Don’t change your mind!
