After six miscarriages, I finally held my healthy newborn — then my husband saw her shoulder and whispered, “This isn’t our baby”

After ten heartbreaking years and six miscarriages, Elara and Nolan finally welcomed a healthy baby girl they named Wren. The pregnancy had been filled with fear, and neither parent truly believed they would bring a child home until they heard her cry. During the newborn examination, Nolan noticed a small dark birthmark below Wren’s left collarbone and jokingly described it as a tiny thumbprint.

Later, a nurse returned carrying their bundled daughter. Nolan eagerly took her, but when the blanket slipped from the baby’s shoulder, his expression suddenly changed. This baby had a reddish mark on the right side instead. Her identification band showed the correct names and hospital number, yet Nolan insisted something was wrong. The delivery nurse confirmed remembering Wren’s dark birthmark on the left. Then staff checked the newborn assessment records and discovered another baby girl had been there at exactly the same time. Minutes later, another frightened couple appeared outside their hospital room.
