While helping his girlfriend clean her room, a man discovered a strange object with two handles and a curved shape.

Unsure what it was, he took a photo and asked people online. “I’ve been staring at it for the last 20 minutes trying to figure it out,” he admitted.

People suggested everything from kitchen gadgets to beauty tools, making the mystery even more confusing.

Eventually, several commenters believed it was an abdominal exercise device.

He researched it and confirmed they were right. The compact equipment is designed to exercise the abdominal and core muscles.

Depending on the movement, it can also engage the obliques, lower back, shoulders, and other stabilizing muscles.

The device is not a shortcut to fitness, however. Consistent exercise, proper technique, and healthy habits are still important.

Later, he asked his girlfriend about it. She laughed and explained that she had bought it during a fitness phase and used it for several weeks before becoming too busy.

The forgotten item had simply been an old home workout device—not a mysterious gadget after all.
