By placing bag handles or a strap into the narrow opening, some drivers find that a bag can remain more stable instead of sliding around as easily while the vehicle is moving.
That could mean fewer groceries rolling across the seat or floor and less chance of certain items tipping over during an ordinary drive. Something that looked inconvenient could actually have a surprisingly practical use.
What stood out most was how subtle the feature was. There was no obvious label explaining it and no instructions pointing it out. It simply existed between the cup holders, waiting for someone to discover a useful way to use it.
Of course, car interiors vary considerably by make and model, and not every narrow cup-holder slot was necessarily designed specifically for bags or straps. But the discovery still changed how I looked at everyday objects. Sometimes what appears to be a design flaw may have a practical purpose—or at least a clever use—we simply haven’t noticed yet.
