Torn From His Bassinet: The Miracle Rescue of a Baby Swept Away by a Deadly Tennessee Tornado

Lord had survived. The infant had reportedly been carried away from the destroyed home and ended up in the branches of a nearby tree. Aramis found him alive and brought him back through the rain, overwhelmed by what had just happened.

Despite the terrifying force of the tornado, the baby escaped with relatively minor injuries, including a concussion and an injury near his ear. His parents and older brother also survived, turning what could have ended in devastating loss into an extraordinary story of survival.

Their home, however, was gone. Clothing, furniture, baby supplies, toys, and countless personal belongings had been destroyed or scattered by the storm. Suddenly, the family faced the difficult task of rebuilding nearly every part of their everyday life while still processing the trauma of that night.

Then their community responded. Friends, neighbors, and strangers donated clothes, food, diapers, household necessities, and money. An online fundraiser attracted widespread support, helping the young family begin again. For Sydney and Aramis, nothing could erase the fear of watching their baby disappear into a tornado. But finding him alive transformed the darkest moment of their lives into one they would never forget. Their story became a powerful reminder that even after a storm destroys nearly everything around a family, survival, community, and compassion can give them something to build upon again.
