Victoria Leigh Soto was a 27-year-old first-grade teacher at Sandy Hook Elementary School who became widely remembered for her courage during the tragic events of December 14, 2012. During the school shooting in Newtown, Soto reportedly acted to protect her students, helping to shield children from danger at great personal risk.
