For several weeks, strange noises had been coming from inside our bedroom walls. At first, they were barely noticeable—soft scratching, faint rustling, and occasional vibrations that seemed to disappear whenever we tried to investigate. My husband thought it might be old pipes or mice, but something about those sounds made me increasingly uncomfortable.
Every morning, just before sunrise, the noises returned. Sometimes they were quiet, while other times they sounded like something was moving deliberately behind the drywall. We joked about having ghosts in the house, but eventually, neither of us found it funny anymore.
One morning, the scratching became so loud that it woke us both. When I pressed my ear against the wall, I felt a strange vibration, almost like hundreds of tiny wings moving together.
My husband had finally had enough. He grabbed an axe from the garage and decided to open the wall.
