Riddles can be great fun for some people, while others find them frustrating—especially when the answer isn’t immediately obvious. Often, the hardest riddles don’t require complicated math or logic at all. Instead, they depend on unusual wording and make you look at an ordinary sentence in a completely different way.
One such riddle involving a woman in a boat has left plenty of people scratching their heads. It goes: “There is a woman in a boat, on a lake, wearing a coat. If you want to know her name, it’s in the riddle I just wrote. What’s her name?” Think carefully before answering. The clue isn’t hidden in the lake, the boat, or even the coat. In fact, you don’t need to calculate anything. You simply need to slow down, reread the wording, and notice something most people overlook the first time.
